The Formula for Health-Preserving Tea Drinks Is Revealed! If You're Looking to Lose Weight or Enhance Your Beauty, Come and Take a Look!

The formula for health-preserving tea drinks is revealed

The wellness trend has swept across generations, from Baby Boomers to Gen Z. Now, office workers are swapping iced coffee for traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) herbal teas.

"Drinking too many iced things isn't good; it harms your Qi and Blood. Just brewing some Chrysanthemum, Goji Berry, or Hawthorn is already better than those cold drinks!"

Embracing the Wisdom of TCM Teas

After years of modern habits, people are suddenly awakening to the benefits of TCM wellness teas. Each blend, or "tea prescription," offers different effects—from nourishing Qi and generating fluids to strengthening the spleen, resolving dampness, calming the spirit, or even aiding in weight management and improving sleep.

TCM Perspective: Year-Round Health Preservation

From a TCM perspective, health preservation is essential regardless of the season. For example, during summer, high temperatures and heavy sweating cause the body's Yang energy to diffuse outward, leaving the internal environment relatively weak (empty). Therefore, it is crucial to protect the Yang energy, balance Yin and Yang, and prevent heatstroke, dampness, and weakened immunity.

We must also avoid excessive "cold-seeking" behaviors—which includes not just cold drinks and ice cream, but also prolonged exposure to cold air conditioning (especially direct blasts) or cold showers. Such actions can allow Cold Evil to invade, damage the Yang Qi, injure the Spleen and Stomach, and lead to symptoms like abdominal pain and diarrhea. Thus, utilizing appropriate wellness teas is an excellent way to support health alongside proper diet, exercise, and rest.

Understanding the Power of Common Tea Ingredients

Wellness teas feature various herbs and ingredients. Before jumping on the bandwagon, remember that different herbs have different efficacies and are suitable for different body constitutions. Don't blindly follow trends!

1. Different "Ginsengs" for Different Needs

American Ginseng

  • Nature: Mildly cooling.
  • Benefits: Replenishes Qi and nourishes Yin, clears heat, and promotes fluid generation.
  • Suitable For: Individuals with deficiency heat, restlessness, internal heat and thirst, dry mouth and throat, or Qi and Yin deficiency.

Ginseng

  • Nature: Mildly warming.
  • Benefits: Greatly tonifies vital Qi, restores pulse and prevents collapse, reinforces the Spleen and Lungs, generates fluids, nourishes blood, and calms the spirit.
  • Suitable For: Those with extreme physical weakness, cold limbs, weak pulse, Spleen deficiency, loss of appetite, Lung deficiency and coughing, fluid depletion, Qi and Blood deficiency, long-term illness, or anxiety and insomnia.

Red Ginseng

  • Nature: Warming.
  • Benefits: Powerfully tonifies vital Qi, restores the pulse and prevents collapse, supplements Qi, and secures the blood.
  • Suitable For: Cases of extreme physical collapse, cold limbs, weak pulse, Qi failing to hold the blood, uterine bleeding, and heart failure.

Prince Ginseng

  • Nature: Neutral.
  • Benefits: Tonifies Qi, strengthens the Spleen, moistens the Lungs, and generates fluids.
  • Suitable For: Spleen deficiency leading to fatigue, poor appetite, post-illness weakness, deficiency of Qi and Yin, spontaneous sweating, thirst, and dry cough due to Lung dryness. (Similar to American Ginseng but milder and often used for children.)

2. Goji Berry Not for Everyone

Nature: Neutral. Benefits: Nourishes the Liver and Kidneys, benefits Essence, and brightens the eyes. Suitable For: People with Yin deficiency of the Liver and Kidneys, presenting with symptoms like aching lower back and knees, dizziness, tinnitus, impotence, internal heat and thirst, or dim vision due to blood deficiency.

Cautions:

Diabetic patients should consume in moderation due to high sugar content. Those with a weak stomach (prone to indigestion, bloating, or diarrhea) may worsen their Spleen and Stomach burden with excessive consumption. Also, experts suggest **chewing dried Goji berries** is better for nutrient absorption than simply soaking them in water.

3. Hawthorn

Nature: Mildly warming. Benefits: Promotes digestion, strengthens the Spleen, moves Qi and disperses blood stasis, and reduces turbidity and lowers lipids. Suitable For: Those with stagnation from meat consumption, epigastric fullness, abdominal pain with diarrhea, blood stasis, postpartum stasis, or hyperlipidemia.

Cautions:

Not suitable for those with excessive stomach acid or stomach ulcers.

4. Coix Seed

Nature: Mildly cooling. Benefits: Strengthens the Spleen and benefits Qi, drains water and reduces swelling, dispels dampness, and treats painful obstruction and diarrhea. Suitable For: Spleen deficiency with diarrhea, difficulty urinating, limb swelling, or rheumatic joint pain.

Cautions:

Long-term heavy consumption may be counterproductive for those with insufficient bodily fluids (dry mouth, constipation), Spleen/Stomach cold deficiency, or impaired kidney function. It is slippery and potentially stimulating; pregnant women should avoid consumption.

5. Astragalus Root

Nature: Mildly warming. Benefits: Tonifies Qi and raises Yang, stabilizes the exterior and stops sweating, promotes urination and reduces swelling, generates fluids, nourishes blood, unblocks obstructions, resolves toxicity, and promotes tissue regeneration. Suitable For: Qi deficiency leading to fatigue, reduced appetite, sinking middle Qi (e.g., prolapse), spontaneous sweating, Qi deficiency edema, internal heat thirst, anemia, or chronic ulcers.

Cautions:

Being mildly warming, it can worsen symptoms like dry mouth, acne, or heat-induced constipation. Its exterior-stabilizing effect can "close the door on the thief," preventing pathogens from being expelled. It is not suitable for large consumption during fever, infection, or for those with hot palms/soles or night sweats.

6. Red Date

Nature: Warming. Benefits: Tonifies the Middle Jiao (Spleen/Stomach) and benefits Qi, nourishes Blood, and calms the Spirit. Suitable For: Spleen deficiency with poor appetite, fatigue, loose stools, or women experiencing emotional distress, irritability, and mood swings.

Cautions:

Red Dates are cloying and promote dampness, making them unsuitable for those with internal damp-heat or phlegm-damp constitutions. Also, their high sweetness means consuming large amounts of red date tea can significantly increase sugar intake.

7. Chrysanthemum

Nature: Mildly cooling. Benefits: Disperses wind-heat, clears the Liver and brightens the eyes, and resolves toxicity. Suitable For: Wind-heat type cold, headache, dizziness, red and swollen eyes, dim vision, or topical sores/swellings.

Cautions:

Those with Spleen/Stomach cold deficiency (e.g., frequent diarrhea or abdominal pain) should consume in moderation.

The Golden Rule: Tailored Tea Selection

To correctly select a TCM wellness tea, you must first understand the function of the formula and then choose a tea that addresses your specific issue. It is crucial to combine this knowledge with an understanding of your own body's condition.

If necessary, **consult with a professional TCM practitioner** for advice on the most suitable ingredients, dosages, and drinking times. Only by drinking the right tea can you achieve your ideal wellness goals.
